RED ILLUSIONS

My name is Zoe Chalvatzi and I'm still studying at the School of English. I have two courses left in order to graduate. Creative writing as was introduced to me by Catherine Rogers was inspiring. I do not really have specific plans for this field of studies, except for the feeling that writing as a means of expression is liberating and necessary.

ALEXANDRA IN WARLAND

I am Alexandra Christakidou and I have always had an inclination in writing. I used to write poems as a teenager and later on I changed styles many times. I tend to write my thoughts with what I call ‘a mixture of styles’, that is, I use elements from poetry, drama, or satire. In my monologue ‘Alexandra in Warland’ I present a memoir of events connected to war. The aim of this monologue is only one: to make the audience think.

BEE MURDER

My name is Kyriaki Onisiforou and I come from Cyprus. I am a senior student in the School of English of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I consider creative writing as another way of inner psychoanalysis because I can dig and reach the deepest corners of my thoughts. Moreover I believe that creative writing, as every other form of writing, has the power to refine or form consciousness and affect the way people think, even in a minor degree. This is the reason why most of my writings have a social nature.

DUM SPIRO SPERO

My name is Angela Petrou and I come from Cyprus. I am a senior student at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and after completing my studies, I will pursue an MSc in Business Management. What I love most about creative writing is the fact that it gives me the opportunity to express my thoughts and feelings in a way that liberates my mind and soul.

THE WITCH OF SALEM OWNS CHOCOLATE AND THE PILLOWS

My name is Lizzy Pournara and I’m currently in my third year of studies in the School of English at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I’m very interested in literature and its application in the teaching of English as a foreign language. I hope that some day I’ll write my own novel.

THE ALMOND BLOSSOM

I am Sonia Sevendekidou. I have graduated from the School of English of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I am 24 years old, residing in Thessaloniki. My creative interests mostly concern writing poetry and free verse. I am fond of adapting pieces of writing and songs to music. I like experimenting with prose, and I aspire to ameliorate efforts regarding longer pieces of writing. I am also interested in acting.

IN A REVERIE

My name is Maria Spintzou and I have recently graduated from the School of English. I live in Thessaloniki and work as a teacher. In my writings, fiction is intermingling with real life experiences extracted from their space and time setting in order to form a jigsaw-puzzle which aims to depict the instability of human affairs.

JUST MY LIFE

My name is Dafni Tarara and I like dancing. I will soon become a Latin Dance teacher and I also work as a teacher of English. I live in Thessaloniki, which is my home town. I enjoy reading best sellers and I hope to become a writer one day.

JUST BE

Hi! I am Catherine Valaoura and I am an alumna of School of English of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I love writing because I think of it as a way to express my inner thoughts. I don’t like to make plans for the future. I only make dreams! I am dreaming of a future full of hope, joy, positive mood and much more creative writing!
